See Batman’s Leading Feline Ladies Throughout the Decades

The Batman,” released in 2022, marked Zoë Kravitz as the latest star to slink into the Catwoman suit and kick major butt on screen. However, the 34-year-old certainly isn’t the first actor to wear that iconic leather jumpsuit. Women have been portraying Catwoman since the 1960s, and while Kravitz is great in the role – which earned her a nomination at the Critics Choice Super Awards – she was tasked with filling some pretty big cat ears.

In a January interview with W magazine, Kravitz revealed that she did her own research for her Catwoman role, saying, “I did watch a lot of videos of large cats and thought it was really interesting that they move their hips but not their face or their eyes.”

Kravitz isn’t the only star to bring her own flair to the role of Catwoman. Halle Berry‘s 2004 portrayal, though poorly received, still gets brought up to this day. Back in 2018, Berry acknowledged her movie’s failure while accepting an award from New York Women in Communication, per Glamour, and said, “Everybody around me said, ‘Girl, don’t do it. It’s going to be the death of you. It’s going to end your career.’ But guess what I did? I followed my intuition and I did a movie called ‘Catwoman’ and it bombed miserably.”

Berry’s Catwoman wasn’t a total loss, though. The actor noted that “while it failed to most people, it wasn’t a failure for me because I met so many interesting people that I wouldn’t have met otherwise.” She also said she learned “two forms of martial arts” and, most of all, made “a sh*t-load of money that changed my life.”

From Kravitz and Berry to Eartha Kitt and Michelle Pfeiffer, scroll ahead to see which other actors have played Batman’s sexy sidekick.

Rihanna Reveals She’s the New Voice of Smurfette During Surprise CinemaCon Appearance

Rihanna is lending her voice to a new project, but it’s not the ninth album fans have been hoping for since 2016. On April 27, the “Lift Me Up” singer made a surprise appearance at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, where she announced that she will be playing Smurfette in the upcoming Smurfs musical movie.

In addition to voicing the animated character, Rihanna joins the project – directed by Chris Miller and Matt Landon – as a writer and producer, according to Entertainment Weekly. Notably, the Paramount adaptation will follow a separate storyline from Sony’s three-part series, which starred Neil Patrick Harris, Katy Perry, Sofía Vergara, and Hank Azaria. The upcoming musical will also feature original songs by Rihanna. It’s not the album we’ve long been waiting for, but new music is new music.

“I got to play a part and just imagine. I got to just be myself.”

Rihanna has showcased her acting skills in high-profile movies like “Ocean’s 8” (2018) and “Battleship” (2012) in the past, but the live-action/animation hybrid film marks the star’s first venture into voice acting since “Home” in 2015. “I got to play a part and just imagine. I got to just be myself,” Rihanna, who is expecting her second child with A$AP Rocky, said of playing the classic blue character. “I got to show up in my pajamas in my third trimester and play a little blue badass.”

In addition to giving Smurfette’s character her signature moxy, Rihanna added that she hopes the new role will give her “a little bit of cool points” with her kids, including her nearly 1-year-old son. Jokingly, Rihanna added that she initially auditioned to play Papa Smurf, “but it didn’t work out.”

“On behalf of our studio and our creative partners, we couldn’t be more excited to have found our Smurfette in one of the most beloved stars in the world,” Paramount said. “With Rihanna’s singular creative appeal and musical talents, there is an enormous opportunity to elevate the cultural touchstone of The Smurfs universe in a way that’s never been done before.”

“The Smurfs Musical” is slated for release on Feb. 14, 2025, and no one seems more excited than Rihanna. During her time onstage, the star added that reimagining Smurfette was a “fun journey” and that she can’t wait to see the project realized onscreen. “The entire movie is going to be so fun,” she said. “It’s so thrilling.”

The Hunger Games Are Back in the Thrilling “The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes” Trailer

Welcome back to Panem. The first trailer for the highly anticipated “Hunger Games” prequel movie, “The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes,” has arrived. The new dystopian film stars Tom Blyth as a young Coriolanus Snow – who’s president in the OG films – during the early days of the Hunger Games. In the movie, he’s assigned to mentor Rachel Zegler‘s District 12 tribute Lucy Gray Baird during the 10th ever Hunger Games, and their connection will change both their lives forever.

“The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes” cast features some big names like Viola Davis, who will star as Dr. Volumnia Gaul, the head gamemaker for the 10th annual Hunger Games – but she’s not the only award-winning name to sign onto the film. The trailer also previews Peter Dinklage’s role in the film as Casca Highbottom, dean of the academy, attended by Coriolanus, and coauthor of the Hunger Games itself. “Euphoria” star Hunter Schafer also stars in the film Tigris Snow, Coriolanus’s cousin and confidante who advises him on everything.

The forthcoming movie is based on Hunger Games author Suzanne Collins’s prequel of the same name that was released in May 2020. The story’s events take place 64 years before the original novels and films and only 10 years after Panem’s first rebellion. While Katniss Everdeen’s Panem is under harsh government control, this Panem is still grappling with the aftereffects of the war.

The original Hunger Games movies starred Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss, the unlikely and reluctant hero who becomes the symbol of a revolution. Lawrence was joined by Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Amandla Stenberg, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Stanley Tucci, Lenny Kravitz, and “Daisy Jones and the Six” star Sam Claflin. Donald Sutherland played the menacing President Coriolanus Snow in the original films.

Read ahead for everything we know about “The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes” so far, including the cast, trailer, release date, and more.

Zendaya and Tom Holland Had the Cutest Date Night at Usher’s Las Vegas Concert

Zendaya got to live out one of her childhood dreams on Thursday, April 27. The lifelong R&B-lover saw iconic performer Usher in concert. She had her boyfriend, Tom Holland, right by her side, making things even sweeter.

The Spider-Man couple were spotted immediately by other fans in attendance as they entered the Park MGM venue for the “Let It Burn” singer’s My Way residency in Las Vegas. Videos filmed by fans and posted on Instagram showed Zendaya and Holland being escorted to their seats (alongside another friend and Zendaya’s assistant, Darnell Appling), Zendaya passionately singing “Confessions,” and Holland hugging Zendaya as they got a shout-out from Usher.

“Thank you to each and every person who’s been a part of this amazing moment in Las Vegas,” Usher said from the stage at the end of the show in one video from the night. Cheers erupted when he added, “Zendaya is in the house, ladies and gentleman! Tom Holland is in the house!”

Zendaya – who rarely posts on her Instagram despite being one of the platform’s most-followed users with 177 million followers (and counting) – actually shared her own video on her Stories, in which she sings “Confessions” into the camera and swings around to catch Holland and her friends in the video as well.

“When I tell you we barely had a voice at the end of this . . .” the “Euphoria” star captioned the video, adding, “Childhood dream came true, going to an Usher concert.”

The crowd loved being in the presence of Marvel greatness at the concert. One fan can even be heard saying, “Awww, Zendaya and Spider-Man!” in the background of an Instagram video of the pair hugging.

James Corden Enlists Tom Cruise, Harry Styles, and Adele For His “Late Late Show” Send-Off

James Corden’s tenure as “The Late Late Show” host has come to an end. On April 27, CBS sent him off with a prime-time special honoring some of his best moments (and debuting two final bits with Adele and Tom Cruise) before the actual final episode aired, with guests Harry Styles and Will Ferrell. For Cruise’s segment, Corden got the “Top Gun” actor to join him in the Los Angeles stage production of “The Lion King,” and the duo learned puppetry and songs before eventually donning the two-person elephant costume in the show’s opening number, “The Circle of Life.”

Later in the show, they appeared as Timon and Pumba and performed “Hakuna Matata.” Watch their journey to stage glory above. The prime-time special also featured Adele’s final Carpool Karaoke with Corden. Adele filmed her original car singalong video with Corden in 2016, and it’s since racked up 261 million views on YouTube. In the new video, Adele is driving, and the pair revisit some of the segment’s highlights.

The actual final “Late Late Show” did not feature the rumored One Direction reunion, but Styles did talk about some of his favorite memories from his many appearances on the show, including the time he played dodgeball with Michelle Obama. Styles also revealed he still has the show’s logo tattooed on his arm from when One Direction played a game of tattoo roulette. Corden’s fellow late night hosts also decided to pay tribute to Corden with a fun skit. Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel, Seth Meyers, Jimmy Fallon, Trevor Noah, and even David Letterman himself appear in a sketch where they haunt Corden before his final show. The hosts joke with Corden that he can’t just leave the show. They beg him to keep the “secrets” of hosting, like that they don’t watch all the shows and movies celebs are promoting and that they have a fake laugh for bad stories. The other hosts also joked about Corden’s love of singing and dancing on his show and told him that after he retires he need to grow a long, Letterman-style beard – and he can’t go to the Met Gala again. The end of the bit showed Corden and Noah as contestants on a future episode of “The Masked Singer.”

Corden took over “The Late Late Show” from Craig Ferguson in March 2015, and his biggest impact is probably the amount of singing and dancing he did add to the program. While hosting, Corden continued to appear in films, including 2019’s “Cats,” 2020’s “The Prom,” and 2021’s “Cinderella.”

Back in January, Corden explained his reasoning for stepping back from the late-night show. “Look it’s not easy in any way to walk away from something that is so, I mean, I’ll never work in a better environment than the one I work in now,” he said on “The Drew Barrymore Show,” per “Entertainment Tonight.” “Nothing about leaving the show was to do with not enjoying it. I love it. But the truth is it became a very easy decision, because I always knew it was an adventure and I never, ever considered it to be the final destination.”

Corden added that he didn’t want his work and busy schedule to come “at the expense of our children, our family.”

“The Late Late Show” is seemingly not getting a new host, though. Instead, Deadline reported in February that the show will be replaced with a new version of “@midnight,” a panel show that originally ran on Comedy Central. CBS did not comment on the report at the time and has yet to officially announce what show will fill Corden’s time slot.

Blake Lively Won’t Be Attending the 2023 Met Gala: “I Will Be Watching”

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are basically Met Gala royalty, but Lively will not be in attendance at the 2023 Met Gala on May 1. At the reopening of the Tiffany & Co. Fifth Avenue in New York City on April 28, Lively was asked by reporters if they’ll see her at this year’s gala. She answered, “You will not,” per People. “But I will be watching,” she added.

When a reporter complimented her 2022 look, she replied, “Thank you, that’s very sweet. I’ll be wearing that on my couch on Monday.” Though Lively didn’t directly comment on her husband’s attendance, Reynolds presumably won’t be attending without her.

Lively and Reynolds co-chaired the 2022 Met Gala, and they previously attended the event together in 2014, 2017, and 2018 as well. Lively’s looks at the event has made her a yearly Met Gala favorite.

Though Lively didn’t reveal the reason why she’s skipping the Met Gala this year, she is very busy right now. She and Reynolds, who’ve been married since 2012, share four children: daughters James, 8, Inez, 6, and Betty, 3, and a newborn, whom they welcomed sometime this winter. In March, the whole family was spotted at a soccer game in Wales to support Reynolds’s team Wrexham FC, who Reynolds co-owns with actor Rob McElhenney. Lively’s April 28 appearance was her first red carpet since giving birth.

On top of their parenting and soccer-related commitments, Lively and Reynolds have both kept their acting plates full. Lively is set to appear in the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s “It Ends With Us”, while Reynolds will star in “Deadpool 3” in 2024. On top of Lively’s appearance at the Tiffany’s event, the parents were also spotted hand-in-hand on the street in New York earlier in April, and were also photographed getting dinner with their good friend Taylor Swift.

Every Celebrity Who Attended Tiffany & Co.’s Landmark Reopening

Fifth Avenue or Hollywood Boulevard? The iconic flagship Tiffany & Co. store – the one where the Aubrey Hepburn classic “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” was filmed – just had its grand reopening on April 27 after its recent renovation, and all the stars came out. Newly dubbed Tiffany’s Landmark, celebrities turned up in droves to celebrate the occasion.

Everyone from Florence Pugh, Gal Gadot, Anya Taylor-Joy, Zoë Kravitz, and Michael B. Jordan to couples like Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union, Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz-Beckham, and Dylan Sprouse and Barbara Palvin were in attendance for the event.

Tiffany’s newly minted ambassador Jimin even drew a large crowd across the street from the event. In one fan video filmed from early in the evening, Sprouse joked to the gathered crowd, “Guys, don’t worry, Jimin is coming, OK?” Later, Alexandre Arnault, the executive VP of product and communications at Tiffany & Co., posted an Instagram Story video of the crowd waiting for the BTS superstar, captioned, “Woops!” And when Jimin finally arrived, he was greeted by Tiffany’s President and CEO, Anthony Ledru, who told the “Like Crazy” singer, “You have a lot of fans waiting for you outside.”

Ahead, check out all the celebrities who made it out to celebrate the grand reopening of Tiffany & Co.’s Landmark store.

Priyanka Chopra Says Daughter Malti Marie Has Her “Wrapped Around Her Finger”

Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra are enjoying parenthood. After tying the knot in a beautiful ceremony in Jodhpur, India, in December 2018, the couple announced in January 2022 that they’d welcomed their daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, via surrogate. “We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate,” Chopra wrote on Instagram at the time. “We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family. Thank you so much.”

While celebrating Mother’s Day three months later, Jonas and Chopra revealed Malti had previously spent “100 plus days” in the newborn intensive care unit (NICU) but was “finally home.” “On this Mother’s Day we can’t help but reflect on these last few months and the rollercoaster we’ve been on, which we now know, so many people have also experienced. After 100 plus days in the NICU, our little girl is finally home,” both Jonas and Chopra wrote on each of their accounts.

They continued: “Every family’s journey is unique and requires a certain level of faith, and while ours was a challenging few months, what becomes abundantly clear, in retrospect, is how precious and perfect every moment is. We are overjoyed that our little girl is finally home, and just want to thank every doctor, nurse and specialist at Rady Children’s La Jolla and Cedar Sinai, Los Angeles, who were there selflessly every step of the way. Our next chapter begins now, and our baby is truly a badass. Let’s get it MM! Mommy and Daddy love you.”

In May 2022, Jonas opened up about fatherhood in an interview with “Today,” saying, “Life is beautiful. . . . She’s a gift.” Meanwhile, in Chopra’s February 2023 British Vogue cover story, the mother of one opened up about caring for her daughter and said, “Now I feel I have a center, a sense of calm, because every decision ends up being about her.” She added that there’s “nothing more satisfying than seeing [Malti’s] face as soon as her eyes open” after revealing she has “seven cameras in her room.”

On the flip side, Chopra also been candid about the backlash she received for “outsourcing” her pregnancy and having a “ready-made baby” via surrogate. “I’ve developed a tough hide when people talk about me. But it’s so painful when they talk about my daughter,” she shared. “I’m like, ‘Keep her out of it’ . . . I’ve been really protective of this chapter of my life with my daughter. Because it’s not about my life only. It’s hers too.”

Over the last year, Jonas and Chopra have been generous about documenting their parenthood journey, with Malti making her first public appearance at her dad’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony on Jan. 30. Most recently, Chopra said Malti has her “wrapped around her finger” in an interview featured in Elle’s May 2023 issue.

“I don’t even know how I’ll ever discipline her because I just don’t have it in me. I was so close to losing her so many times that she can get away with anything and I just want to see her happy,” said Chopra. “I want her to be the happiest. She’s a super smiley, happy baby, and that’s all my goal is – to see her joyous. Every time she smiles, it lights up my world, and that’s all I want to do.”

Since becoming a mother, Chopra told Elle what’s surprised her most is “just how much you can love something and how viciously you’ll protect it.” She explained, “I’ve seen my mom rip people when I’ve been hurt and I just never understood it. I was like, ‘Mom, chill out. What are you doing?’ Now I get it. I would take someone out.”

“Are You There God?” Star Rachel McAdams’s First Celeb Crush Was Conan the Barbarian

In the new movie “Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret,” Rachel McAdams got to revisit her adolescence, but Abby Ryder Fortson is still in the middle of hers. The worst part of being a teenager for the 15-year-old actor? “All the awkwardness, obviously,” she tells POPSUGAR. “There’s days where I’m like, ‘Wow, I just did something real stupid. And I’m like, ‘Hmm, OK, we gotta work on that.”

McAdams says that if there is something she misses about being a teenager, it’s “that feeling of floating through day like a butterfly.” She realizes now that as a teen she had a “lack of responsibility,” adding, “I thought I had a lot going on, but really I didn’t.” Still, McAdams admits, “I don’t truly miss a ton about being a teenager, to be honest. I’m sorry, Abby.” Fortson agrees: “It’s a hard time.”

In “Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret” – based on Judy Blume’s seminal 1970 young adult classic – Fortson stars as the titular Margaret, a middle schooler on the brink of puberty whose life is thrown into chaos when her parents move their family to the suburbs. The film traces Margaret’s journey through a school year as she deals with friends, puberty, religion, and her first crush. McAdams stars as Margaret’s mother Barbara, whose role was expanded for the movie.

Fortson hadn’t read the book until she got the audition for the film, but she felt the story’s impact immediately. “I turned to my parents and I said, ‘Oh my God, how did someone write down exactly this experience? How did someone write down exactly how this feels?'” she remembers. “It’s such an incredible feat that Judy was able to, like, create a story that is so relatable to so many people, and I absolutely loved it, and it made me fall in love with the project.”

McAdams also hadn’t read the book until the film came around and she said it was interesting to read it as a mother now, looking for the mom’s point of view. But she didn’t just identify with the parental part in the story. “What was so interesting was that I still related to Margaret,” McAdams explains. “I got all kinds of great juicy tidbits and stuff about my character, but it was like, ‘Oh yes, that’s why this is so timeless. This is taking me right back, and I’m having all the feels about that time of my life.’ And it’s really stuck with me.”

Margaret has to deal with the joy and pain of her first crush in the book and movie, and Fortson and McAdams have both been there, too. “It’s always awkward,” Fortson says. McAdams adds that she “probably” had her first crush in nursery school. “He never wanted to play house, he thought it was boring,” she says. “I remember . . . stealing a kiss on the back of his neck once, and he was so upset.”

As for celebrities who caught her eye in her youth? “I remember seeing Conan the Barbarian and having a little funny feeling in my tummy,” McAdams says of the first celeb crush she remembers. She checks with Fortson that the teen knows Conan was Arnold Schwarzenegger, and she does. Watch more of their interview with POPSUGAR above.

“Are You There God? It’s Me Margaret?” is in theaters now.

Chris Pratt Hopes Son Jack Will “Finally Think I’m Cool” After Seeing “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3”

Chris Pratt is hoping to gain some cool points with his son with his latest role in “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.” The 43-year-old actor, who plays Star-Lord in the forthcoming film, is a proud dad of three, and on Thursday, he attended the movie’s Hollywood premiere with his eldest child, Jack, whom he shares with ex-wife Anna Faris. Speaking to People, Pratt said he hasn’t achieved cool status with Jack just yet, but he’s “hoping after tonight, he’ll finally think I’m cool.”

“Actually, he’s here with me tonight. He’s one of my dates tonight,” said Pratt, who was also joined by wife Katherine Schwarzenegger.

Of the upcoming project, Pratt said, “The relationship between a parent and a child is definitely explored in this film, and there’s no stronger bond than between a parent and a child. And, yeah, certainly I can draw on my own experience as a parent when it comes to drawing and finding ways to be emotional and to push emotion.”

Pratt most recently welcomed his second child with Schwarzenegger, a baby girl named Eloise, in May 2022. “We are so excited to announce the birth of our second daughter, Eloise Christina Schwarzenegger Pratt,” Pratt wrote on his Instagram last spring. “Mama and baby are doing well. We feel beyond blessed and grateful.” Baby Eloise joins the couple’s daughter, Lyla, and his son, Jack.

Pratt also gave an update on his two daughters at the premiere, telling People, “Eloise is just starting to pull herself up. She’s crawling around. She’s saying, ‘Dada.’ She loves my guitar.”

“Lyla’s very, very sweet,” he added. “Right now, what is she doing? She’s a little sick at home, so I’ve been sleeping on her floor at night.”

Pratt and Schwarzenegger tied the knot on June 8, 2019, after a six-month engagement that came less than a year after they began dating, and the couple shared their exciting pregnancy news with daughter Lyla back in April 2020.
